A positive problem?

It just happens that All-Us old friend E has brought a new angle to our project. E is a fine gentleman and a songwriter himself. And a country music disbeliever to begin with.
Well E - for some reason - started to translate the songs we are playing into Finnish. We are not talking about word-to-word -translation, but creating new lyrics and stories in the spirit of the song.

His lyrics are brilliant. That brings in a problem.

We are singing songs in English to a mostly non-English-native audience. Even though some of the songs have beautifully written lyrics, in a live situation it mostly does not matter what you sing (my-wife-shot-me-and-run-away-with-the-dog, but-its-allright-cos-i-still-got-my-ol-harley-and-a-half-a-bottle-of-bourbon-oh-yeah), as long as you avoid clearly religious, political or indecent vocabulary.

The situation is completely different when using Finnish. And in some of Es lyrics there is a rather clear message.
But it is somewhat tempting to try them anyhow, at least as a side project.
Another issue is, whether the "new" songs ought to be published. But again the thought of the pursuit after necessary permissions from all the copyright holders behind artists like Travis Tritt or Montgomery Gentry is painful.

All in all - this is still a positive dilemma. =)

The Great White

T-Rox - apart from being the ultimate country voice on these latitudes - has a thing for cars. And not just any cars. Those of you who have been eager to finally meet the legendary Coüntrü-Wagen on the endless highways of Southern Finland, will have to wait still. T-Rox is still busy with the planning process of putting the thing together.
But to everybodys delight T-Rox got himself an alternative rig. A great white monster.

But yes - it has got the capacity of carrying the band and the required gear to a bar near you. If it stays in one piece.

Btw. The rumor is that All-Us beloved Mustang could be rolling still this summer.

The Rodeo Of Love - Tour 2007-2008

The domestic Rakkauden Rodeo (The Rodeo Of Love) -tour started from bar Olotila in Helsinki on the 25th of May. We did perform a variety of material in various formations for what looked like a full house.
The response from the audience was overwhelming. Approximately one third of the people announced that they want to join the band. Other third of them were surprised and relived that even though they were dragged to a country music gig by force, the expericence itself was not that painful. The rest of them were just happily s**tfaced, so whatever taking place on the stage was "Hell Yeah! Allright!".
There was a beautiful lady taking something like 12 000 pictures of the show. Whenever the pictures are found, some of them are going to be posted here.
One mishap though. A person left the place right after we started due to our noise level - quoting him - exceeding 150dB. Quite an accomplishment for a band having only the vocals in the PA.

But to the point.

RAKKAUDEN RODEO -tour will continue on the 21st of August at Bar Zetor in Helsinki. Show starts around 9.30 p.m. Free entry. Welcome all friends - old and new.

it has been a while...

...since the blog was updated. sorry. could give U guys a number of reasons for this. starting from unfavorable weather conditions going to why the milk turned out to be sour when having my morning coffee ruining my day an so on...

most of it has to do with the thing that we have been working our asses off (no shit!?) in order to have a proper website up.
but oh no... it is not that easy.

naturally the website needs to have 3D animations, 7.1 dolby digiltal sounds & aromatherpeutic scents and it is supposed to do the coolest things ever...

so it is not going to be launched in the near future...

well, now that we are here again, I try to fill in what has taken place in the Country & Westerinen community since april 2006. that will take a couple of posts in non-chronological order.
